IT’S BACK!
Garlanded with truly extravagant critical acclaim – and clearly the public’s favourite – the family show of 2010 returns for a much extended season in 2011 to meet public demand.
Grisly and gruesome, hilarious and hair-raisingly funny, Hampstead Theatre’s festive treat brings you Brothers Grimm and European fairy tales to make you laugh with delight and shiver with glee.
These tales are retold by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and dramatised by Tim Supple and Melly Still, who also artfully directs and designs. Still has unearthed the macabre, the magic, the mischief, the menace and the merriment in classic stories such as, BlueBeard, Beauty and the Beast and The Emperor’s New Clothes.
A magical treat for children aged 8 + (and also likely to satisfy the sort of bigger kid who has pension plans and mortgages too).

DAILY MAIL
'This show, performed by seven energetic souls, is inventive and uplifting, rattling along fast enough to ensure no child will be bored.'

THE GUARDIAN
‘In an exceptional season for family shows, this one ranks comparison with the best… enormous wit… a good deal of slapstick inventiveness… romantic simplicity… genuinely frightening… the evening works so well because it speaks directly to the imagination.’
