The Peter Wolff Trust was created in 1998 to support unknown and yet to be established British Playwrights and to encourage and nurture their talent. Founded by Peter Wolff, a successful businessman with a deep love for British theatre, the Trust is dedicated to exposing the work of emerging playwrights.
The Peter Wolff Trust will support Hampstead Downstairs for the next 5 years, introducing 6 new and innovative plays each year. The Trust breathes life into unexplored scripts – one in particular is currently enjoying an Edinburgh Fringe transfer. The Peter Wolff Trust continues to have a significant impact on new writing development at Hampstead Theatre.
Peter’s generosity embedded the establishment of this unique initiative at Hampstead Downstairs. Peter Wolff sadly passed away in March 2012. His passion and commitment will forever be remembered through his magnificent legacy which will live on for many years to come.
