Assisted Performances
AUDIO DESCRIBED PERFORMANCES
In-ear headsets are available at the Box Office. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to use our audio description service and we will make sure you are seated in the best possible seats.
Introductory notes for these performances will be sent out several days before the show and will be broadcast in the auditorium 15 minutes before the performance is due to begin.
Touch Tours will be available before our Audio Described performances. Information about how to access our Touch Tours will be shared with all bookers in advance of attending the theatre.
CAPTIONED PERFORMANCES
English text is displayed on a captioning unit above the stage. Please let us know at the time of booking if you need our caption service and we will make sure you are seated in the best position for that performance.
A live subtitled discussion and Q&A will follow these performances. If you would like to attend, please stay in your seats after the show.

CLOSED CAPTIONED PERFORMANCES
Downstairs we utilise closed captioning technology, which allows you to access the captions via an app on a personal device.
Please bring a charged Wi-Fi capable device with you to the theatre and make yourself known to a member of staff before the show, so we can ensure you are set up and seated in the best position for that performance.
AUDIO INTRODUCTIONS
We produce a piece of audio for visually impaired customers who attend Downstairs shows. This audio will be released 2 weeks after the show opens and available through a link on the show page and as a link in the section below.
It contains the following:
a detailed description of the set; interviews with cast where they describe their appearance; describe their costumes; talk about any characterisations that aren’t audible and give a few lines in their accent/voice in the show, if it is different to their normal speaking voice.
